Bank Check vs. Cashiers Check

Cash or cashiers check...Is a bank check acceptable in place of a cashiers check?

It is my understanding that they will only accept a cashiers check and not a bank check because a bank check has the ability to have a stop pay placed on it. A cashiers check is the same as cash so that is what the trustee will typically require.
