Can I send a buyer at auction on my behalf?

I want to actually buy my mom's house at auction. The house will be foreclosing in California but I live out of state, how can I buy the house? Can I get a cashier's check in my name, endorse it to my sister who lives in California, and then she can buy the house for me?

Yes, but have the check made out to the trustee, so you don't need to worry about endorsements at all.
