Junior lien not removed from title after foreclosure

In California, "At foreclosure auction junior liens are typically wiped out". In this case the junior lien remains on title more than 6 months after the foreclosure sale (foreclosed by senior lien, repossessed by senior lender). What is needed to remove that junior lien from title?

Comments

Hmmm... this may be a wording issue. Junior liens will stay on the title history forever. Nothing that I know removes documents from the county recorders index.

The key is that it no longer has a claim on the property, and as such you can buy/sell the property without having to pay it.

If it was truly a junior lien you should have no problem getting title insurance that protects you from any claims that lender makes.

In any case you should be able to clear it up very quickly with your title company.
