Are Preforeclosures with a sale date auctions?

We noticed that some auctions are shown as Preforeclosures, even though they show a date of sale. Shouldn't they be marked as auctions?

Comments

On Preforeclosures, we estimate the sale date the property would go to auction if not paid current. This is really helpful for Realtors, Investors, Attorneys as it helps to more clearly illustrate how much time is left to get a deal done.
