Impossible to say without reading the details of your lease. If the property is being foreclosed on, you will get 90 days notice.

I am a renter and have been told by my brother/landlord on 6/17/09 that I have to be moved out by "this weekend."  What rights do I have as far as obtaining more than a few days notice.  Also, the home was recently short saled and the new owners and my brother/landlord said it has been "recorded' as of 6/15/09.  Do I no longer have to deal with my brother/landlord, as far as, excersizing my rights as a renter and having "established residency" and obtaining at least a 30-day notice or whatever/as much time as I can legally have to move out?

What does your lease or rental agreement say? The home wasn't foreclosed on so the recent law changes giving renters of foreclosed homes doesn't apply to you (even if the home was "in" foreclosure, it wasn't foreclosed on given that a short sale occured).

You can simply stay and force them to evict you, which will certainly buy you some time, but wouldn't it be better to just try to get out and move on?

Your a fuckin idiot! ding dong!!

Im a renter in a home and I was behind on rent, but I was willing to pay what I owed but the landlord refused to let me pay. What can I do? I live with two kids and my husband!....
