Do I have to miss a paymnet to be qualify for short sell?

We are currently driving almost 200 miles a day to work and come back to our house. We have been tring to sell our house for more than 2 years now. we just could not sell it. We are trying our best to paying the house payment. The long drive has really cause us some health issues. We were told by our agent that we have to fall behind on our payment, then we might be able to be approve for short sell. I am wondering if this is true?

You do NOT have to be late to complete a short sale. You do need some type of hardship (driving 200 miles per day could be deemed a hardship).
