What happens if I walk away...?

I live in Belton MO and have been working with a real estate agent for almost 2 years. We have had a couple offers on the house and have attempted to do a short sale, but my mortgage company will not work with us and insists on full price on the house. I am not currently living in the house and cannot afford to keep making payments as I have lost my job. I am doing odd jobs, but those are few and far between. What am I looking at if I stop making payments on my house and let whatever happen...?
