How will I know when I have legally lost my property?
I was trying to get a loan modification, I was denied due to insufficiant income. I tried to save my home by hiring legal help. They advised me to file chapter 13 and referred me somewhere else. I was sent to The Law Office of Louisa Moritz. I never saw or spoke to any lawyer. They charged me upfront $1774...($1500 for thier services and $174 for filing fees). They filed but it was Dismissed for Incomplete Filing, no pay plan was filed. They prepared documents again to refile, they told me I have to pay filing fees again (out of my pocket). When they asked me to come in for my signature, they said to make sure I bring the filing fee with me. Then they had ME take it to the courthouse, file it, and pay the court directly. I was still under the impression that they were representing me. They said not to worry about going to the hearing, so I didn't. But, no lawyer went for me either! case was Dismissed for Failure To Appear, then Closed and a 180 day restriction on refiling was placed. It went to auction and I checked the result was it reverted back to the lender, PennyMac. This is where it is at, but I haven't received anything in writing, so what is my position?
Plus, the property is a duplex. I live in one unit and I have a renter in the other. They have not received anything in writing either. Do I still collect rent until something in writing is received?
