Will I be sued by my borrower if I walk out on my home?

I am currently trying to short sell my home. I have a mortgage with American Home Mortgage Servicing and it is not my original loan and I took out 180k three years ago. Will they sue me if I walk out on the loan? I am 200k upside down in my home equity. Thank you!

Nikkileefox - need more info - was the home purchase money and primary residence? What state are you in? Don't walk out on the loan - get your Realtor to sell the house and negotiate a short sale - there are distinct benefits of a short sale over a foreclosure. If your Realtor does not know how to do this, then get another Realtor who does. BOB
